Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras ...My Way

Happy Mardi Gras !!

I don't know about most of y'all but every Tuesday is fat for me...but well that is just another story. Today we celebrated Mardi Gras at the nursing and rehab center where I work. It is special events like this that make my job fun and special. Where else could I get paid for making jambalya? Did I even spell it correctly? Doesn't matter it tasted G-O-O-D if I do say so myself. So with a team of staff and some teen volunteers we proceeded to have a pretty darn good party. No one was flashed for beads although the residents liked the cute young volunteers handing them out. King Cake was eaten...babies were discovered and prizes awarded all to the sound of some Dixie Land jazz.

Here are a few pictures that do not show any residents. Well not in any identifiable way.I have some really good pictures that I will add tomorrow morning if the ladies give me permission to do so. And I am pretty sure that they will....
A cute teen volunteer passing out beads and prizes. Check for updates tomorrow as I have the "unofficial" Queen of Mardi Gras' picture all ready to upload......

C is for ......

Clay

Almost 10 years ago the very same week that I turned the big 4-0 I learned that I was pregnant with a third child. I was stunned, I was shocked. I just didn't know how this could BE.....well yes I did know but I was very surprised. I believe that every thing is for a reason, a part of a plan maybe not always our plan but a plan for us. Clay is a joy! I know that you can see the life that just sparkes in his eyes and dances in those freckles across his nose. He is the one that started calling me "MommyGirl" a name that is near and dear to my heart. He loves hugs and kisses. He is the one that shares my love of the lake and all things to do with the water. Here...let me show you some more pictures of .....Clay.....

He is a WaterBug that is for sure.....He can now swim without the life jacket but he always wears it when he is on the docks and around the boats. He has always followed that rule.

He is silly and fun to be with! Here he is enjoying some fun glasses he won at a Festival last summer.

C is for Clay.....caring, comic, and committed. He is a sweetheart and I am glad that he is part of my plan.

Just so you know...there are two more that I adore just as much. Their names just happen to be a little farther down the alphabet.

I Feel SO BAD

I am a terrible blogger. Really I am. Look at the date of my last post. I didn't know it had been so long. I haven't even done my "C" post yet and it's almost too late for "D". I am sorry but I am afraid that I have let LIFE get in my way. Heck! Last night was my first "Knit Nite" in over TWO weeks.....lots of reasons but I can't remember most of them now. The one I do remember deals with DH thinking he was having a heart attack last week and spending two nights in the hospital and having a Cardiac Cath. Good news! No heart attack and no blockage! But I am woefully behind.

I have a great "C" ~it is my youngest son. I have been putting it off because I want to use some great pictures and really give a good picture of what a special young fella he is. I need to have some peace and quiet to do that. I guess that is what is taking me so long....looking for the perfect time. Well ...if you will bear with me just a little bit longer....I think the perfect time will be early Saturday morning before anyone else is up. Deal? deal.

?!Super Bowl Sunday?!

Not so much here. Only one of my three sons is into football. We will probably watch the game or part of it. DH and the other two have been talking about the Snackage. which they will eat without guilt while watching Law and Order or a movie.

As for me.....
I took a picture of my knitting before I got started on it this afternoon for Scouts Super Bowl Contest....now football watching required. Here is the link in case you haven't heard already:

And here is my knitting. I cast on for the right side of the Chunky Little Jacket from Ella Rae designs.

But before that I have to head over to work, order the Pizza and make sure there are plenty of drinks and snacks at work for the Super Bowl Party there. Everyone is looking forward to seeing the game on the new 42" flat screen we just got for the Activity Room and have mounted on the wall!!!

Whatever it is you watch tonight. Enjoy what is left of your weekend.

MMMmmm I just noticed that my links and picture thing aren't up there....strange...

Well they were there when I edited. Good.
