What To Say

~ELLIOTT YAMIN~

THIS great picture was sent to me by a fellow E-Fan this morning. He has lots and lots of concerts coming up!! Visit his My Space. Enjoy some great music. Elliott hosted VH1 this morning and got to introduce his own song as the number 1 video for this week. I know I can't believe I watched it either. :)

There is a lot that I want to share and I know as I have been reminded that I have promised some pictures for some time of the stash enhancements I got at the Tapestry "Retirement/Closing the Shop Sale" and I want to share I really do. Maybe not all of it because some of it is for gifts and swaps. But it was a great sale starting at 50% off and going all the way to 75%. Actually made me feel somewhat guilty getting some great yarns and books for such wonderful prices. I think over the course of the sale I have filled one large bin from Target and part of a second one. Just hang in there I will be getting the camera and a charged battery together real soon. I promise.

The big news for this week is: I got my RAVELRY invitation!! and WOW just WOW! It is amazing and I have barely scratched the surface. The ideas and the projects and resources all in one place is just unbelievable. What a concept. Truly you should sign up even if you don't plan to add your stash or your projects, just to be able to see finished how a project looks in different yarns or look up patterns by searching the name of a yarn in your stash for ideas. There are many talented knitters and designers in there. It can be as huge or as small as you would like it to be. You can get lost for hours and hours. Ask me how I know. Nevermind. don't.

I've been on vacation and it's been nice. I've spent some time with my parents, with friends and my youngest son. The weather for the time we have been here at the lake has been great. Some sun and clouds, rain at night and the temperature has steadily come down. I think that I have probably bored you enough for one night and I am going to go sit outside ( Yes I know it is almost 11pm!) and knit for a bit on my Surf Stitch Sweater. I am at the neck and getting ready to head down the back so it is going pretty well. It is a fun knit. Just as a reminder here are a couple of pictures

This is the pattern. Nice and easy ...just the way I like 'em

I am using araucania cotton and Lucky ribbon. A better picture when I resolve the camera issues.

Well for someone who didn't really know what to say looks like I came up with some "stuff".

Have a great week!

I'm a lake knitter too and was happily surprised to see your blog. It's so sad that Evie is retiring (in fact, I think that Labor Day weekend was her last).

Glad for her/sad for me.

Hi again Emmy,

Thanks for hitting my blog! :) There is another LYS near the lake, but it's in Bedford. The name is Yarn Theory. If you're willing to travel a bit, there's two places in Lynchburg (haven't yet been to either one) called Backstitches and Suzannes. In Roanoke, there's Needle on the Square (Becky B. of Tapestry also works there) and if you're willing to go to Blackburg, there's Mosaic (home the of VT blankets/squares). Put it this way, you're not totally without resources at the lake, they're just farther away and they're not Evie. :(

I was passing by Tapestry on my way to the grocery store Monday and saw Evie's car, but I figured she was cleaning out the shop as there was nothing at all in the shop window.

Have a great one, Dana
